Microduck pre-orders are open. This guide covers what you pay, what each pack adds, and what happens between paying and receiving a robot. If you would rather skip straight to ordering, the buy page and the pre-order page both take you to checkout.
What a pre-order costs
- Microduck: $399 before taxes and shipping
- Charger pack: $39 - a dual charger and two extra batteries
- Accessory pack: $39 - laser pointer, NFC polaroid, two rollers, a ball and ten NFC tags
- Dev pack: $119 - three spare motors, five motor cables, two batteries, a dual charger, ten NFC tags, a Hugging Face credit, a screwdriver and a screw pack
Every price is before taxes and shipping. Both are calculated at checkout and shown on the payment page before you pay, so the amount on the Stripe screen is the amount that gets charged.
Which pack should you add
Nothing at all is a valid answer. The robot ships with a battery, a USB-C cable and a game controller, and the seven trained moves are already installed, so the $399 robot is playable on its own.
- Add the Charger pack if you expect long sessions and do not want to stop at the first empty battery.
- Add the Accessory pack if the robot is going to be played with: the ball, the rollers, the laser pointer and the NFC tags are the props the moves use.
- Add the Dev pack if you plan to open the robot. Motor cables and spare motors matter as soon as you start running your own policies.
Packs are separate line items, so you can pre-order the robot now and add gear in a later order.
Colourways
Microduck ships in four colourways: Cream, Graphite, Lavender and Sky. It is the same robot with the same internals in all four - pick the shell you want on your desk.
If you need one specific colourway, email support@microduck.homes after ordering and we will match your order if we can.
How checkout works
- Sign in with Google. The order is tied to your account, so it stays visible on your payments page at microduck.homes.
- Pick the robot and any packs on the pre-order page.
- Pay once through Stripe. There is no subscription and nothing recurring.
- Taxes and shipping are added and shown on the Stripe page before the payment is taken.
After you order
Your order appears in your account under payments. Questions about an order, a colourway, a pack or an address change go to support@microduck.homes with the order number, and we will help you sort it out.
Pre-order questions
Is $399 the final price? It is the price before taxes and shipping, which are calculated at checkout. Can I order the robot without a pack? Yes, and most people should. Can I change or cancel a pre-order? Email support with your order number and we will help. Do I need an account? Yes - signing in with Google is what ties the order to you.
